So, I haven't posted in quite a while. And with that I apologize! This semester has kicked my butt to the max. I haven't had any time to myself, so when spring break happened last week, I used that whole week for "me" time. It was really great to be home and just relax. But now I'm back at school, which means I'm back in the grind of things! However, Recruitment is over which takes a huge amount of stress of my back. But now I have midterms to worry about next week... Ugh.
Spring Break really had me thinking though... When was the last time I did something for me? I really couldn't even tell you. I've been so busy trying to please others I haven't had any time to focus on me. So the last day of break I did something really unexpectedly and applied to transfer to UGA. Crazy right?! I'm just not as happy at my school now that I'd like to be. College is supposed to be such a great time in your life and I feel like I haven't been having such a great time. Maybe it's time for a change.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm actually really excited for what might be happening. I also applied for something else, but I don't wanna say what just in case I don't get accepted... But I will say if I do get accepted, it will be a life changing experience and something I have been dying to do since I was a little kid!
So I apologize for not updating as much as I want to, but I hope to do so more in the near future! I'll be sure to keep you all in the know about what might happen!

Cabin Fever!
I think I am seriously the only one left who hasn't gone back to school. Frankly, it's making me crazy! People are studying for exams and tests and such and I'm like I haven't even flown back to school yet! I do love just being home and relaxing, but at other times I just really want to be back at school. I cannot wait for my internship to start! My pledge sister, Karen, is also an intern there in the PR Department, and told me the COO wants to meet with me! Ah, I'm totally totally freaking out! What do I wear my first day of work?!
I'm also really excited to start school. This is going to be another hectic semester, but thanks to Ratemyprofessor.com, I'm not too worried about the classes I'm taking. However, it is 18 credits. I'm already trying to prepare myself for the breakdowns I will have because of 18 credits on top of an internship. I am very happy to be the Recruitment chair for my sorority, but thank the LORD recruitment will be over as of February 13th (bid day) and I won't have so much to worry about.
Speaking of Recruitment, I've been out and about buying stuff to make the room look all pretty for Rush! I know at some schools they either don't have a spring recruitment or it's informal, but for my school Spring Recruitment is formal. So needless to say, I've been stressing out this last week. I think it's definitely been good that all my friends went back to school so I can focus on all of this.
Oh, I'm also throwing a surprise birthday party for my boyfriend tomorrow night! He's coming home for the weekend, as are a lot of my other friends, so they're all coming over to help me surprise him. It'll be really fun and I'll take pictures and put them on here :)
Ok, well I think this has been enough ranting for now... Sorry for all the random thoughts going through my head!

Exams Week!
It's baaaaaack. The week we've all been dreading: Hell Finals Week. I don't know about you, but this week creeped up on me so fast. I have three exams tomorrow and I'm NOT looking forward t it. However, once I finish my Theology exam on Thursday night, I'm packing my bags and boarding a plane Friday morning to go back to the South for a beautiful six weeks. I have so many things planned for when I go home, but first I really need to focus on my exams and hopefully raising my GPA! Here are some tips I came up with for studying:
- Make a to-do list. As cheesy as this sounds, its a pretty efficient way of getting work done.
- Do things in a mannerly way. Don’t cram studying all in to one day, or stay up until two in the morning. There’s no way you’re going to really understand everything or have the motivation to do so. Taking breaks can also help to. Reward yourself for working hard!
- SLEEP. Getting a good night’s sleep will definitely make a difference. If you go into an exam with a full night’s sleep, it will have much more of an effect than if you walked in groggy.
- Distance Yourself from Distractions. Try to get away from people such as boyfriends/girlfriends, loud friends, and just distractions in general like Facebook or Tumblr(or in mot of . Go study in a study room or a library. Trust me, it will make all the difference. If you’re in a loud place or a dorm room you will get no work done.
- Notecards. I know for me, notecards has always been a good studying technique. It’s a source for memorizing terms, or just anything really. Color coding your notecards also help to. It helps you memorize faster, because it triggers the brain faster (Thank you freshmen year Psych for teaching me that).
Good luck on your finals! The next time I post, I'll be in Georgia :)

My Latest Obsession: Vestique
I wanted to introduce you all to an online botique that I am currently obsessed with: Vestique.
If I could pick one store that would consist of my whole closet having all their clothes, this would be the store. I am on the website pretty much everyday looking through all there new arrivals and their adorable accessories. They even have a Game Day section where you can pick your school and they put together outfits that would be perfect for your school's game day!

All Moved In!
What a day it has been! I have been up since 6:30 this morning because I could not stop thinking of today! We packed the car last night so we didn't have to worry about it this morning.
The car was so packed things kept falling on top of me when we made turns- it was quite the hour car ride from my aunt's house in Westchester. Finally, we made it to Queens and I was so excited. My room mate and I shrieked when we saw each other. It had been a long four months away from each other. It only took about an hour and a half before we finished decorating my part of the dorm!
It's not quite that done yet, but this is pretty much the gist of it! It was sooo hard saying goodbye to my mom and it makes me wanna tear up just thinking about it. I'm not gonna be able to see her until Thanksgiving and she is like my best friend. Good thing we text each other like everyday, and if she finally learns how to use skype, I'm sure we'll be doing that too. It's been pretty bad without my boyfriend too- and I won't be able to see him until Christmas break! But him and all of my family are such good supporters. I wouldn't be able to do anything without them.
I am so ready for this semester though. I feel like great things are gonna happen and I can't wait to experience them!

Just A Heads Up...
Unfortunately for the next few days I won't be able to post much. I just got to New York yesterday morning so I'm busy preparing to move in to campus on Sunday! I'll try to update as much as I can, but it might not be until Sunday night! Hope you all have a great weekend!
Just found this quote on Pinterest the other day, and I really feel like this is a motivator! Follow me if you want!

The Must Have Shorts of the School Year
I don't know about you, but something about these shorts would definitely motivate me to go to the gym! Nike running shorts, or popularly known as "norts" are the must have shorts for the school year. Whether you're just chilling out in the dorm room, or going to class, these shorts definitely style up what you're wearing!
You can buy these shorts from Nike on their website, or go to your local sporting goods store. Dick's Sporting Goods is having a sale on them for buy one get one half of!
Which ones would you buy?
I'm going to half to say I'd buy these:

Lilly Loving
For my first post, I have to get something off my chest:
Hello, my name is Amanda, and I have a Lilly Pulitzer addiction.
Recently, I spent quite a lot of money on shorts (picture above). But let me tell you you, they are so worth it! I cannot wait until school starts (25 days until move in, but who's counting!) to show off my fabulous and preppy shorts. Not only are they cute, but they are the perfect length.
As you can see in the picture, the shorts are not very short, and can easily go to your fingers- so they should totally be appropriate to wear if you are in High School. I don't know about you, but it is not attractive at all to see girls wearing shorts that have their butts hanging out of them. What I love about Lilly Pulitzer shorts is that they are modest but cute!
