Cabin Fever!

I think I am seriously the only one left who hasn't gone back to school. Frankly, it's making me crazy! People are studying for exams and tests and such and I'm like I haven't even flown back to school yet! I do love just being home and relaxing, but at other times I just really want to be back at school. I cannot wait for my internship to start! My pledge sister, Karen, is also an intern there in the PR Department, and told me the COO wants to meet with me! Ah, I'm totally totally freaking out! What do I wear my first day of work?!

I'm also really excited to start school. This is going to be another hectic semester, but thanks to Ratemyprofessor.com, I'm not too worried about the classes I'm taking. However, it is 18 credits. I'm already trying to prepare myself for the breakdowns I will have because of 18 credits on top of an internship. I am very happy to be the Recruitment chair for my sorority, but thank the LORD recruitment will be over as of February 13th (bid day) and I won't have so much to worry about.

Speaking of Recruitment, I've been out and about buying stuff to make the room look all pretty for Rush! I know at some schools they either don't have a spring recruitment or it's informal, but for my school Spring Recruitment is formal. So needless to say, I've been stressing out this last week. I think it's definitely been good that all my friends went back to school so I can focus on all of this.

Oh, I'm also throwing a surprise birthday party for my boyfriend tomorrow night! He's coming home for the weekend, as are a lot of my other friends, so they're all coming over to help me surprise him. It'll be really fun and I'll take pictures and put them on here :)

Ok, well I think this has been enough ranting for now... Sorry for all the random thoughts going through my head!

Exams Week!

It's baaaaaack. The week we've all been dreading: Hell Finals Week. I don't know about you, but this week creeped up on me so fast. I have three exams tomorrow and I'm NOT looking forward t it. However, once I finish my Theology exam on Thursday night, I'm packing my bags and boarding a plane Friday morning to go back to the South for a beautiful six weeks. I have so many things planned for when I go home, but first I really need to focus on my exams and hopefully raising my GPA! Here are some tips I came up with for studying:

  1. Make a to-do list. As cheesy as this sounds, its a pretty efficient way of getting work done.
  2. Do things in a mannerly way. Don’t cram studying all in to one day, or stay up until two in the morning. There’s no way you’re going to really understand everything or have the motivation to do so. Taking breaks can also help to. Reward yourself for working hard!
  3. SLEEP. Getting a good night’s sleep will definitely make a difference. If you go into an exam with a full night’s sleep, it will have much more of an effect than if you walked in groggy.
  4. Distance Yourself from Distractions. Try to get away from people such as boyfriends/girlfriends, loud friends, and just distractions in general like Facebook or Tumblr(or in mot of . Go study in a study room or a library. Trust me, it will make all the difference. If you’re in a loud place or a dorm room you will get no work done.
  5. Notecards. I know for me, notecards has always been a good studying technique. It’s a source for memorizing terms, or just anything really. Color coding your notecards also help to. It helps you memorize faster, because it triggers the brain faster (Thank you freshmen year Psych for teaching me that).

Good luck on your finals! The next time I post, I'll be in Georgia :)

Frist Day of the Semester!

Today was an amazing first day of my second year at St. John's. It started out dreadful with a three hour calculus class at 10:40. I was not looking forward to it, but the professor was really cool. Three hours flew by and before I knew it I was done!

After that, I went with my room mates to the city to go get some things for the room. We went to Lush in Herald Square and it was so much fun. I've been in the store in Atlanta a few times but I never knew much about it. But I can definitely say now I feel in LOVE with it. We bought soap for our room called Honey I Washed the Kids and it smells so good!

I also bought a lipgloss which is supposedly supposed to last a year from their new cosmetic line called Emotional Brilliance. The color is very natural and is good for going out or just going to class. I absolutely love it and can't wait to sport it tomorrow!

PS:
While waiting for the Subway to go back to Queens, we spotted Lilly (aka: the best friend) from the Princess Diaries!

It definitely made my day! Hopefully I'll see more celebrity sightings this semester!

Hope you all are having a lovely week!
