What I've Been Up To

This week has been a very busy week for me! My friends and boyfriend are all off to college so I've been trying my best to spend a ton of time with them before they all go back! It stinks that I'll be pretty much all alone up until next wednesday, but this gives me time to start packing and getting a little back-to-school shopping done!

On Sunday, I went out to dinner with two of my closest friends senior year:
Dress: TJ Maxx
Necklace: Lizard Thicket

They both go back tomorrow, and one is rushing at Ole Miss this September, and I'm so so so excited for her! I know any sorority would be happy to have her :) We went to this fantastic Japanese hibachi place. Hibachi is my weakness; the fried rice is always SO good!

Then yesterday was a whole lot of craziness!

I went with one of my good friends to go get mani/pedis:

She goes to my college and unfortunately we didn't get to see each other very much, so it was really great to be able to catch up with her!

Then, my boyfriend took me to go see the Addam's Family at the Fox Theater!

I'm telling you, the Fox Theater is seriously one of the most beautiful theaters I've ever been inside of!

After the show, Shawn and I stopped by his frat house at GA Tech since it was literally two minutes away from the Fox!

Dress: Jessica Simpson

I've had a ton of fun these past few days and although I'm sad to be leaving Atlanta, I will be back here during Thanksgiving!

The Truth

So, I have to admit something: I am a bargain shopper. I know that's not really something to you should be afraid to admit, but I have to come clean. I enjoy shopping at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Ross. Even though the stores can be extremely overwhelming, I found some great deals there! Just the other day I went into TJ Maxx and found the cutest pair of Coach flats. FYI, I'm a size eleven in shoes so to find cute shoes like that in my size is a match made in heaven. I didn't buy them, but if they're still there next time I go, they'll be the first thing I pick up. I also found some cute Ralph Lauren polos! I mean come on, you can't go wrong with getting designer stuff at way discounted prices.

A couple of days ago, I took a trip to TJ Maxx and bought about ten items for $150! You can't tell me that's a great deal!  That's way better than just buying one sweater at J. Crew! Plus, I'm a broke college student. I don't have a job and I go to school in New York City. Things are ridiculously overpriced there, so budgeting my money is essential there.

I do have my weaknesses such as Lilly Pulitzer and Lizard Thicket, but I usually only buy stuff there when I reward myself, such as birthdays and Christmas. I definitely learned to stop splurging last year when I saw how much I spent at college. It was not pretty.

I'm not trying to convince anyone to stop how they're spending their money, but don't you think it's a bit ridiculous to pay hundreds of dollars for one item of clothing when you can pay the same price for, say, eight pieces of clothing?

Just some food for thought.
