Alex and Ani

Hi guys! So I wanted to talk to you all about a jewelry company that I am absolutely in love with: Alex and Ani. This is their mission statement:

They sell all types of jewelry but are especially known for their bracelets. They sell bracelets with a charm for every sports team, college, and symbol you can think of. Some of my sisters have the Theta Phi Alpha one and are in love with it:

They have all 26 Panhellenic organizations, so they would be such cute gifts for Initiation, Big/Little, and Christmas! 

One thing I love about the store is that the prices are amazing for these bracelets! They're also very cute to stack with other bracelets. They also have monogramed ones!

I would definitely recommend checking Alex and Ani out. They sell them at a lot of stores, including Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom! It might be a good find to add onto your Christmas Wishlist! I know I'll be adding the Theta Phi Alpha charm! :) 

Update on my life!

Hey y'all! So this last week has been huge for me! Here are some of my highlights:

• Getting Recruitment Chair. I'm still in shock like you wouldn't believe! I went into Chapter on Tuesday thinking I would watch one of my other sisters get this position. Um, wrong! I was nominated last minute and had five minutes to write a speech. I had so many people helping me, and in the end I got the position! I am more than thrilled to be on the executive board for the next year in my Sorority! :)

• State Day. Yesterday I had to be up bright and early as my chapter ventured off to Hofstra University for State Day! Every chapter of Theta Phi Alpha from NY, NJ, CT, and DE was there. I was in a room of around 200 sisters and couldn't be happier! We ventured more into ritual, fundraising, and recruitment techniques. I also found out that me, the president, and the vice president of my chapter will be flown somewhere in the country to a Leadership Retreat this summer! I'm beyond excited for it!

As for now, I am starting to pack to go to Florida for Thanksgiving break!! I leave Friday and I'm ecstatic!! I hope you all had an amazing week! 

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Hey guys! Hope you all had an amazing weekend. This weekend for me was filled with tons of Philanthropy, which I couldn't be more happier to do! One of the big reasons I even considered joining Greek life was for the community service and giving back to the community.

On Saturday, two of my pledge sisters and I went to a place called Bread and Water. We all sat in our own little cubicle and registered people under their list so that they can receive Christmas presents for their children. One women came in and told me she didn't even want to do that because their are so many people less fortunate than her but was begged to come by her friends. She then told me that half of what her son got was going to be given to children who need it more.

It amazed me that even people who are very much in need of money also think there are people who are way worse off than they are. It was so inspiring.

Today, I woke up at the wonderful time of 6:30 to walk around CoronaPark for Making Strides for Breast Cancer. Although I wasn't so happy to wake up at that hour, I was excited to take part of this Philanthropy.

Me and two of my other sisters got to the registration site extra early to help St. John's students register. It took forever because there was so many people in line waiting to register!

When we got to the starting line to walk the 5k, there were so many people there just standing on the side lines the whole time cheering people on. It was such a great motivation and really kept me smiling the whole time. 

Corona Park was so beautiful, and some of the spots looked something like a movie. It was so surreal. 

When I got back from the walk, I ordered Chinese food with some of my sisters and watched American Horror Story. I then proceeded to go back to my dorm and take a two hour nap that was very much needed! 

I'm so happy I got the opportunity to do both of those things this weekend.

Greek Gear!

One of my favorite things about being in a sorority is the cute apparel that comes with it! Of course there are so many other great reasons, but this is definitely one of the perks. My sorority started a tradition at the school to give out rain jackets with the Greek Organization, Pledge Class, Pledge Name, and Scroll Number on it. I just received mine on Tuesday and I'm totally obsessed! :

I am so, so, SO in love with this jacket. I have to admit I slept in it the night I got it- definitely the best sleep of my life ;) We were supposed to get them on Initiation, but they weren't ready yet so they surprised us at the end of Chapter!

Finally Initiated!

Friday was such an exciting day. Why? Because I am finally an initiated sister of Theta Phi Alpha!

My school does this special thing where each sorority and fraternity give us "pledge names" when we cross over. The chapters each vote on a name that they think describes us. My Big gave me a tote bag with my pledge name on it!:

This is why I was named Belle:

I am pretty smart (or so they think haha), I LOVE Disney, and I'm a Southern Belle! I absolutely love my pledge name :)

Afterwards we went out to celebrate:

It is seriously a night I will remember for the rest of my life. I am so excited to officially be part of a wonderful fraternity and apart of Panhel!
